Privacy Policy

Information stored on your device

The app stores settings needed to preserve your experience, including language, theme, Magic UI, screen orientation, note naming and labels, instrument and note-release preferences, and Functional Ear Training options such as selected tonics, scale, vocal range, enabled tones, cadence behavior, and automatic progression.

The app also stores named exercise presets that you create, the number of exercises solved on the current local calendar date, daily exercise balances, rewarded unlock state, and a cached record of access granted through Google Play. It does not collect or derive a birthday or local advertising-age classification.

If you use Google Drive backup, the app stores the email address of the selected Google Account, whether automatic nightly backup is enabled, and the name and time of the last known backup on your device. Google access tokens are kept only in memory while a Drive action is running and are not placed in a backup file.

Voice and microphone data

The tuner requests microphone access and processes microphone audio in real time on your device to estimate musical pitch. Audio is used only while the training screen is visible and active. It is not recorded, stored, transmitted, or uploaded. You can deny or revoke microphone access through Android settings, although the live tuner will not work without it.

Android backup and device transfer

The app disables Android-managed cloud backup and device transfer for all app data. A new installation therefore starts with current defaults, including the configured free daily exercise allowance, instead of restoring an earlier exercise balance, settings, cached Google Play entitlement, purchase state, consent state, or backup-account metadata.

Ordinary app updates retain local data because they do not remove the app's storage. Purchases and subscriptions are verified separately through Google Play. Supported settings and saved exercise presets can instead be transferred through the explicit local or Google Drive backup feature.

Backup files and Google Drive backup

You can create an .eybackup file containing product-wide training settings and the saved exercise presets that you created. Product-wide settings include note-release, tuner and piano-key label, octave-naming, tuner-display, and exercise-progression settings. The selected instrument is not included in the backup. Exercise-specific tonic, scale, range, chromatic-tone, enabled-tone, and cadence settings are included only inside named saved exercise presets; the transient current exercise is not backed up. Backup and restore tools require active PRO access or a temporary unlock obtained by choosing the optional rewarded ad on the Upgrade screen. Android's system document interface lets you choose where to save that file. The file is not encrypted separately by EY Vocal Pitch Trainer, so anyone who can access it may be able to read the settings it contains. Restoring a backup replaces the backed-up product-wide settings and saved exercise presets currently stored in the app.

If you choose Google Drive backup, Google asks you to select an account and authorize the limited drive.appdata permission plus access to that account's email address. The email address is used only to display and remember the selected backup account. The Drive permission lets the app create, read, and delete only its own hidden application data in that account; those files do not appear among your normal Drive files. The app keeps up to three recent Google backups and lets you restore or delete them individually.

You may also enable automatic nightly Google Drive backup. When enabled, Android schedules a backup around the time configured by the app, subject to network availability, battery settings, and Android background-work delays. On Android 12 and newer, the app may ask you to open Android settings and grant optional Alarms & reminders access so it can request a more precise nightly wake-up. This access does not expose alarm contents or other personal data to the app, and you can decline or revoke it; the less precise background-work schedule remains available. Receiving the device-started event lets the app restore an enabled schedule after a reboot. Neither permission guarantees when the network upload will finish. The app silently reuses the selected account and existing authorization; it does not open an account or consent screen from the background. Automatic backup uses the same backup contents, Drive storage, retention limit, and premium-access rules as a manual Google backup. You can disable automatic backup at any time in the Back up and restore screen.

Backup data is sent directly between the app and Google Drive over encrypted network connections. EYDEVELOPS does not operate an intermediary backup server and does not receive your backup contents or Google access token. Google processes the selected account information and stored backup files under Google's Privacy Policy.

Purchases and subscriptions

Optional lifetime purchases, subscriptions, and Support Developer purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Google Play provides the app with product details and purchase status needed to display offers, grant access, restore purchases, and complete consumable support purchases. EYDEVELOPS does not receive or store your payment-card number or other payment credentials.

Advertising

The app uses Liftoff Monetize, Yandex Ads, InMobi Ads, Unity LevelPlay, and Unity Ads.

Information you provide

If you contact EYDEVELOPS by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, display name, message, and attachments. We use it to respond to your request, provide support, and maintain necessary correspondence. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.

How information is shared

EYDEVELOPS does not operate its own analytics, account, or cloud-storage service for this version of the app. Google may process information required for Google Play Billing, in-app update checks, optional Google Drive app-data backup, fraud prevention, and related Google services. Email providers process information that you send when contacting EYDEVELOPS.

The app can open external pages, Google Play, or your email application when you choose a corresponding action. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. A local .eybackup file remains wherever you chose to save it until you delete it. The app keeps up to three Google Drive app-data backups for each account you use; Google may retain deleted data temporarily under its own policies.

You can clear local app data or uninstall the app, delete individual Google Drive backups from the Back up and restore screen, delete local backup files through your file provider, and manage subscriptions and purchase history through Google Play. To request access to or deletion of information that you sent directly to EYDEVELOPS, contact us using the email address below. We cannot identify or retrieve data that remains only on your device or in your hidden Google Drive app storage.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for users aged 13 and older and does not ask users to provide or confirm their age. A user who is below the age at which they can independently consent to data processing in their country should use the app with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to EYDEVELOPS, contact us and we will address the request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's data practices or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will be posted at this location with a new update date.
